basing on your experiences what are the specific signs and symptoms of autism? im doing a school report and my topic is autism... we have to know the causative agent, other name for autism, mode of transfussion (if there is), treatment and caregiver's management... :) i was hoping anyone here could help me...

i work with children with autism. we start working with them at age 2. the only difference is that they have to be taught in a different way then "normal" children. i have had several go into kindergarten and they may be alittle quirky but they are making friends. they do whatever the other children do and honestly thier knowledge is even if not better then the "typical" children.

I agree with you for I am a mother of a child who is living with Autism. This should not be considered a mental retardation, it's more of an offset in developmental areas. My son is 9 years old.

The word "symptom" is so misleading, they are traits, and many of the traits are very important parts of the person, don't insult autists by overmedicalising it.

I know I'm just throwing it out there for people who think autism is a form of retardation.

yes i know that, i know what it's like to have autism. i have a brother with a different form of autism so i know how different people with autism all are.

I have autism as well and I have many friends. Autism has nothing to do with mental retardation. It just means we interact differently than others. |
