I could be wrong about the content of the ad,all i remember for certain is how he responded to it so strongly,and the impression it gave him.His reaction was all i am trying to highlight,and how he was determined to make the coice himself.

That is a lie. There was never ads on TV saying that stem cells cure autism. If your brother doesn't want a cure that is fine but a lot of other people want to have independant life.

My Step Brother,concidered high functional,was very upset by the ads for stem cell.He was bothered by the thought of being cured,and very against it.He was 11 at the time,and was not lead into the discussion at all.He simpley reacted to the tv.Being his obsession is tv,that made it much harder to overcome his distress until some time after the ads were discontinued.Please never forget they have strong wills,and should not be excluded from the decision to follow through with any treatment plan.
